Peacock football adds 37 players on 2026 National Signing Day

Class features 32 freshmen and 19 players from Iowa

FAYETTE, Iowa - Upper Iowa football head coach Jason Hoskins has announced 37 new additions to the team for the 2026 season.

The class is made up of 19 players from Iowa, five players from Wisconsin, five players from Texas, two players from Missouri, one player from Minnesota, one player from California and one player from New Jersey.

"We want kids who are tough, violent and just love playing the game," Hoskins said. "We want guys who are committed to being successful. One thing that we got out of having a couple of good years back-to-back is that I felt like we could get in there and be a bit more selective of who we were getting."

The Peacocks got their most signees on the offensive and defensive line, totaling nine on the offensive front and five on the defensive front.

"We graduated a lot of kids on the offensive and defensive line, so that had to be a focus for us," Hoskins said. "You need big guys in the program, and we had to take quite a few. That was an extremely important position for us because it starts up front, and that's how we won a lot of games this year. We had to reload at those two spots."

Upper Iowa had to replace 25 seniors from last season, and this group will help the program continue the success it's had the past two seasons from those guys.

"Overall, as a class, I don't feel like there are any weak spots," Hoskins said. "It is very solid at every position, and we have guys that truly enjoy playing the game of football.
