Andresen and Burgess earn CSC Academic All-America® Second Team

Peacock football players become first to earn honor since 2018

GREENWOOD, Ind. - Upper Iowa's Connor Andresen and Eddie Burgess both earned College Sports Communicators (CSC) Academic All-America® Second Team selections. They are the first Peacock football players to earn the honor since Nate Skare in 2018.

This season, UIU won the most games in program history with nine wins. This included the program's first-ever bowl victory in the Albanese Candy Bowl. Andresen and Burgess both aided a Peacock offense that had the most total points and touchdowns in program history.

Andresen started all 12 games for UIU at right guard and was an All-GLVC Second Team selection. This season, the UIU offense only allowed 12 sacks, which led the GLVC and ranked 20th in the nation. The Peacocks ranked 35th nationally in rushing offense.

Burgess also started all 12 games for the Peacocks at tight end. The Montezuma native earns his second All-American honor this season after being the second player in program history to earn AFCA Second Team All-America. This season, he totaled 55 catches for 641 yards and five touchdowns.

Seven members of the Academic All-America® Division II football teams boast a perfect 4.0 GPA in their undergraduate or graduate work. The 23 members on the first team have an average GPA of 3.79, with the entire 45-man team holding a collective average GPA of 3.80.

The Division II Academic All-America® program is financially supported by the NCAA Division II national governance structure to assist the College Sports Communicators with handling the awards fulfillment aspects for the 2025-26 Division II Academic All-America® program.
