Upper Iowa concluded the Loras Invite in competitive fashion. With no points being calculated, the Peacocks still had a great overall performance as they thrived in numerous events.
Haylie Hutchinson led the Peacocks with a great performance in the 100m hurdles, finishing first with a time of 16.13 seconds. She also took first in the 400m hurdles with a time of 1:05.81. In the triple jump, Hutchinson placed fourth with a jump of 11.16 meters.
Carolina Regalado finished 5th in the 100m with a time of 12.79 seconds and took 7th in the 200m with a time of 27.56 seconds. Regalado's strong results in the sprints were key for the team.
Jordan Sekafetz placed second in the long jump with a mark of 4.63 meters. She also finished second in the 100m hurdles with a time of 16.44 seconds.
In the 400m,
Eryn Sabelka took second with a time of 1:03.38, while
Jasheana Tracey finished third with a time of 1:05.85.
In the discus throw,
Myah Brinker placed fifth with a throw of 40.23 meters, while
Kiana Maghanoy finished 12th with a throw of 33.48 meters.
The Peacocks' 4x400m relay team of
Jillian Dodds, Sabelka, Tracey, and Hutchinson won their race with a time of 4:14.59, to cap off a very successful day.
Upper Iowa will close out the regular season in Cedar Rapids, Iowa for the Coe College Invite. The competition will be held on Wednesday, Apr. 23 at a time that is yet to be determined.
