INDIANAPOLIS - The Great Lakes Valley Conference (GLVC) released the 2026 outdoor women's track and field preseason poll on Thursday morning. Upper Iowa was picked 14th after receiving 28 points.
The Peacocks recently completed the indoor season at the GLVC Indoor Championships on March 1. Haylie Hutchinson broke two school records in the triple jump and 60m hurdles at the event. She recorded a jump of 11.18m (36' 8.25") and a time of 9.14 seconds in the 60m hurdles. Head coach Nate Rucker is in his 14th season at the helm of the program.
UIndy was picked No. 1 with 166 points and 10 first-place votes. The Greyhounds won the GLVC Indoor Track and Field Championships. Lewis (Ill.) took second with 159 points and four first-place votes. Lincoln (Mo.) was picked third, and Southwest Baptist (Mo.) was picked fourth.
The preseason poll is selected by the league's head coaches, who, per GLVC Bylaws, are not permitted to vote for their own team.
The Peacocks start the spring season on Tuesday, March 31 at the Loras Easter Invite at 12 p.m. The GLVC Outdoor Championships are scheduled for April 30 to May 2 in Bolivar, Missouri.
