With the conference championships, the GLVC released the James R. Spalding Sportsmanship Award honorees. Hutchinson was named the honoree for the Peacocks. The GLVC James R. Spalding Sportsmanship Award honorees are student-athletes who have distinguished themselves through sportsmanship and ethical behavior. These individuals must also be in good academic standing while also demonstrating good citizenship outside of the sports-competition setting. Hutchinson is now eligible to become one of UIU's two Spalding Sportsmanship Award winners, which will be announced at the end of the academic year.
UIndy won the GLVC Indoor Championship with 132 team points. Lewis (Ill.) came in second with 127 points, and Lincoln (Mo.) was in third with 101 points. The Greyhounds snapped Lewis' six-year Championship streak with the win, picking up their second indoor crown in program history.Â
The GLVC Championships wrap up the indoor track and field season for the Peacocks. UIU will start outdoor competition on April 1-2 at the Loras Easter Invitational in Dubuque.
