THIS WEEK IN PEACOCK SOFTBALL… Upper Iowa will play in their final road games of the regular season with a pair of non-conference double headers. The Peacocks will face Wisconsin-Parkside on Wednesday, Apr. 16 at 12 and 2 p.m. and Missouri Western State, Saturday, Apr. 19 at 11 a.m. and 1 p.m.

PITCHING DUO… The Peacocks have allowed that fewest amount of home runs in the GLVC, giving up only nine on the season.
Sara Reid has pitched her way to an 8-7 record, while recording a 4.25 ERA and 12 complete games. She has struck out a team-leading 89 batters across 117 innings pitched.
Delaney Vetter has added 77 strikeouts while leading Upper Iowa with a .282 batting average against. She has allowed only one home run across 84 innings pitched, and has recorded one save on the year.
HIGH-FLYING HITTERS… Serah Shafer continues to lead the Peacocks with a .385 batting average with team-highs of 57 hits, 32 runs and 23 stolen bases. She has scored multiple runs in seven games and has added two homers on the year.
Tristin Doster has posted a .347 batting average with 41 hits and 22 runs. She leads the Peacocks with eight home runs and 38 RBIs, highlighted by a two-home run, eight-RBI performance in Upper Iowa's victory over William Jewell.
Taylor Sedam and Dorothy have each recorded 15 RBIs, while Sedam ranks second on the team with three home runs. Sedam has scored 16 runs on 37 hits, while Ziebell has added 11 runs on 28 hits.
Addyson Alber has hit a team-high ten doubles with 33 hits on the season.
PURSUING PARKSIDE… The Rangers have posted a record of 18-18 while going 9-9 in the GLIAC. Junior Mia Johnson has recorded team-highs of 40 runs on 43 hits, with a .381 batting average. She also leads the Rangers with 12 doubles, 17 home runs and 41 RBIs. Johnson has recorded multiple homers in five games, and 12 games of at least two RBIs. Her season was highlighted by a three-home run, six-RBI performance against Wayne State. Seniors Toni Rodriguez has added three home runs and 23 RBIs while Eden Welling has recorded five homers with 20 RBIs. On the mound, junior Ellie Curtis has posted a 5-3 record with two shutout victories. She has recorded a 3.43 ERA, while leading the team with a .274 batting average against and 47 strikeouts.
GRAPPLE WITH THE GRIFFONS… Missouri Western State has posted a 24-19 record while going 11-11 against MIAA opponents. Senior Sydney Rader has gone 16-9 on the mound, while pitching 21 complete games and six shutout victories. She has struck out 146 batters in 155 innings, allowed a .213 batting average against and has recorded a 1.81 ERA. Senior Mackenzie DeVine has hit team-highs with a .333 batting average, 43 hits, five doubles and three triples. She has added 20 RBIs while scoring 18 runs on the year. Junior Kalee Higdon leads the team with 33 runs scored on 30 hits, while sophomore Sydney Young has hit a team-high five home runs and 26 RBIs.
MARK YOUR CALENDARS… The Peacocks will close out the regular season with three consecutive games at the Eischeid Softball Complex. Upper Iowa will begin their homestand against Wisconsin-Parkside once again on Wednesday, Apr. 23 at 12 and 2 p.m. The Peacocks will then match-up with Illinois Springfield on Saturday, Apr. 26 and McKendree on Sunday, Apr. 27 with games starting at 12 and 2 p.m. on both days.
