Upper Iowa men's basketball claimed the GLVC Player of the Year honor for the second consecutive season.
Nick Reid was awarded the title this year, following
Jake Hilmer, who earned Player of the Year honors in 2023-24.
Noah King and
Kyle Hrncir were each selected to the All-GLVC Second Team, while
Gavin Hershberger was UIU's James R. Spalding Sportsmanship honoree.
Troy Glover II (UMSL) earned Defensive Player of the Year, Max Booher (Quincy) garnered Freshman of the Year, and Bill Walker (Missouri S&T) was dubbed Coach of the Year. In total, 20 student-athletes claimed All-Conference honors, 10 earned All-Defensive Team honors, five were named to the All-Freshman team, while 15 were chosen as GLVC James R. Spalding Sportsmanship honorees for the sport.
Reid led the league in scoring with 23.9 points per game (24.8 in GLVC contests) and ranks ninth in NCAA DII for points per game. The forward also finished second in the GLVC in rebounds, averaging 8.3 per game, and has recorded eight double-doubles. He has scored in double digits in every game this season, including eight performances with 30 or more points. Reid has added 58 assists, 28 steals, and 18 blocks. He is shooting 42.8% from the field, 35% from beyond the arc, and 86% from the free-throw line, where he ranks fifth in NCAA DII with 181 made free throws. Reid has been named GLVC Player of the Week three times, earned Player of the Year honors, made First Team All-GLVC, and was named to the Bevo Francis Top 50 Watch List.
King earned a spot on the All-GLVC Second Team after averaging 15.4 points, 3.7 rebounds, and 2.3 assists per game during the conference schedule. He shot 42.5% from the floor and 32% from beyond the arc against league opponents. The Caledonia, Minn. native recorded nine games with 20 or more points, including a season-high 29 points in a double-overtime win over Lewis last weekend
Hrncir earned a spot on the All-GLVC Second Team after averaging 12.2 points, 7.8 rebounds, and 3.0 assists per game during the conference schedule. The forward collected 78 offensive rebounds during the regular season, ranking second in the GLVC. He also led the team with 35 steals (5th in the GLVC) and blocked nine shots. Hrncir posted five double-doubles on the season and set a career-high with 35 points in Upper Iowa's victory over #5 Missouri S&T.
