The Great Lakes Valley Conference announced the 2024-25 Women's Basketball All-Conference Teams.
Mia Huberty garnered all-conference honors for the second year in a row as she was named to the All-GLVC First Team.
Kayla Bohr was honored with an All-GLVC Third Team selection while
Amelia Valentino was named the James R. Spalding Sportsmanship Award recipient.
Mia Huberty scored 18.2 points per game on the year, ranking second overall in the GLVC. The three-level scorer was one of the most efficient players in the conference as she shot 44.4% from the field, 46.1% from beyond the arc and 85.0% at the free throw line. Huberty scored in double figures in all but one game this season, and she etched her name into the Upper Iowa record books by scoring ten or more points in 24-consecutive games. She scored a career-high 38 points in a double overtime victory against Quincy, which is the most points scored in a single game by any GLVC player this year. She shot 15-29 in the match, converted 4-8 of her three pointers and hauled in nine rebounds. Huberty added a 33-point performance over William Jewell, shooting 10-18 from the field, 4-7 from beyond the arc and 9-10 at the free throw line. Huberty has surpassed the 20-point mark ten times, which includes a 10-11 shooting performance in Upper Iowa's win over UIS with 24 points. She added a 17-point, 11-rebound double-double against Lewis and has averaged 4.9 rebounds and 2.6 assists per game. Huberty also scored a game-winning midrange jumper with one-second remaining over Maryville, to give Upper Iowa a crucial 54-52 win. She became the 16
th Peacock to eclipse 1,000 career points and she currently ranks fourth on Upper Iowa's all-time scoring list with 1,279 points.
Kayla Bohr finished second on the team with an average of 12.1 points per game while hauling in 3.5 rebounds per game. She shot 42.1% from the floor, knocked down 35.9% of her threes and hit 80.7% of her shots at the charity stripe. Bohr scored in double figures 16 times, while surpassing the 20-point mark in three games. She scored a career-high 23 points in a victory over Truman State where she shot 7-15 on the day while converting all nine of her free throws. Bohr added a 22-point game over Winona State where she shot 5-7 from three-point range while hauling in six rebounds. She posted a 13-point, 10-rebound double-double in the season opening win over Augustana, while dishing out her season-high of four assists. She surpassed 1,000-career points between Wisconsin-Parkside and Upper Iowa in a victory against Maryville, and she has currently recorded 1,042 points over her collegiate career.
Amelia Valentino was honored with the sportsmanship award as she represented herself through positive sportsmanship and ethical behavior while also striving for success in the classroom. Valentino appeared in 25 of UIU's 26 games this season, where she shot 37.5% from three-point range. She converted multiple three pointers in five games this season, while posting a perfect 3-3 three-point shooting with nine points against William Jewell.
Upper Iowa earned a spot in the GLVC Championship Tournament as they went 13-13 on the year while posting a 10-10 record against GLVC opponents. The Peacocks achieved the #7-seed in the conference tournament where they will seek postseason victories for the second year in a row.
