INDIANAPOLIS - The Great Lakes Valley Conference (GLVC) released the 2025-26 Preseason Coaches' Poll for women's basketball, and Upper Iowa was picked eighth.
The Peacocks earned 101 votes in the poll. This was seven votes behind Truman State (Mo.) and nine votes ahead of Rockhurst (Mo.). UIU women's basketball finished the 2024-25 campaign seventh in the GLVC with a 10-10 conference record, falling in the GLVC tournament quarterfinals to Drury (Mo.).
Upper Iowa's top returner is junior guard Ava Privet, who averaged 7.4 points per game last season. Sophomore Lindsey Davis is back for her sophomore campaign after averaging 6.9 points and 2.2 rebounds per game last season.
Drury took first in the poll with 191 points and 10 first-place votes. The Panthers return First Team All-GLVC selection Rhi Gibbons. Maryville (Mo.) came in second with 165 points and bring back last season's GLVC freshman of the year in Lindsey Schadewalt.
Lewis (Ill.) was in third with 163 points and four first-place votes. The Flyers won the regular season GLVC Championship last year. Missouri S&T in fifth received the last first-place vote. Last year's GLVC Tournament Champion, Quincy (Ill.), was picked 10th.
The Peacocks start the 2025-26 season at the Wisconsin Dells Crossover in Justagame Fieldhouse on Nov. 14 against Northern Michigan.
