AUGUSTA, Ga. - Kyle Hrncir was named NABC/D2CIDA National Player of the Week. The redshirt junior adds this to his weekly awards after taking home his second GLVC Player of the Week award of the season on Monday.
Hrncir becomes the first Peacock to win the NABC/D2CIDA National Player of the Week since Jake Hilmer in 2024. Hilmer notched the award once during the 2022-23 season and twice during the 2023-24 campaign.
The redshirt junior led the Peacocks (7-1, 3-0 GLVC) to a 3-0 week over three GLVC foes. This included wins over Quincy (Ill.) (4-4, 1-2 GLVC), Lincoln (Mo.) (4-4, 1-3 GLVC) and No. 5 Missouri S&T (5-1, 2-1 GLVC). Hrncir averaged 23.3 points, nine rebounds, 2.3 assists and 1.3 steals last week.
The Peacocks were also featured in the NABC Division II Coaches' Poll. UIU received votes for the first time this season, totaling 24, which ranks 27th in the nation. Upper Iowa plays Clarke at home on Sunday at 12 p.m.
