FAYETTE, Iowa - Upper Iowa men's basketball (3-1) plays its home opener on Friday against Minnesota Crookston (1-2) at 1 p.m. UIU then travels to play Quincy (Ill.) (3-2) on Tuesday at 7:30 p.m. for its first GLVC matchup.

New this year, tickets for all Peacock home events can be purchased digitally at tickets.uiu.edu. Single game tickets are now available online and at the ticket booth on gameday. If you want to pay in person, both Harms-Eischeid Stadium and Dorman Memorial Gymnasium are now accepting all major credit cards, checks and cash.
LAST TIME OUT
The Peacocks split last week's contests, 1-1. The team lost its first game, 84-79, to Central Missouri (5-2) after leading at one point, 58-51. However, UIU came back and won its second game vs Purdue Northwest (Ind.) (1-3), 92-86, after being down 34-14 early in the game.
Last week, Kyle Hrncir took home GLVC Player of the Week after averaging 22 points per game (ppg), eight rebounds per game (rpg), four assists per game (apg) and two steals per game (spg). He proved to be the catalyst for Upper Iowa in its 20-point comeback win against the Pride. Hrncir scored 18 of his 20 points in the second half, including 10 points in the final 10 minutes.
Ty Pflughaupt powered the Peacocks off the bench, scoring 14 ppg while going 6-for-9 (66.7%) from behind the 3-point line and dishing out two assists. Trey Lewis added 12 ppg, three rpg, 1.5 apg and two spg.
STATISTICS SUMMARY
Through the first four games of the season, the Peacocks have averaged 84.3 points per game and shot 118-for-259 (45.6%) from the field. Upper Iowa averages 35 rebounds, 13.5 assists and 10.5 steals per game
The Peacocks rank third in the GLVC in steals per game and second in offensive rebounds per game (14.8). Hrncir leads the conference in total rebounds per game with 10.3 and in offensive rebounds with 3.8. Jack Miller and Hrncir are both tied for third in the GLVC for total steals with nine.
AROUND THE GLVC
Missouri S&T moved up two spots this week in national rankings from No. 8 to No. 6, while Drury (Mo.) (4-1) received 11 votes. On Tuesday, McKendree (Ill.) (3-1) played Central Missouri and lost, 75-67, while Truman State (Mo.) (2-2) played Purdue Northwest (1-3) and lost, 73-64.
Rockhurst (3-1) leads the conference in points per contest with 87. Quincy (53.2%) and Missouri-St. Louis (3-2) (50.9%) are the only teams shooting over 50% from the field. Missouri S&T leads the GLVC in rebounds per game with 47.5.
ABOUT THE GOLDEN EAGLES - Friday at 1 p.m.
Minnesota Crookston went 1-1 last week. The team lost its first contest to Northeastern State (Okla.) (3-1), 80-73, but won its second contest against Oak Hills Christian College (Minn.) (0-3), 115-53.
The leading scorer for the Golden Eagles is Kazadi Mukoma Jr., who averages 15.7 ppg, followed by Alijah Washington with 13.5 ppg and Donez Lindsey with 12.7 ppg. Landon Dimier averages a team-best in rebounds with 8.3 rpg. Owen Chervestad averages a team-high four apg, and Washington averages a team-high 2.5 spg.
Head Coach Bryan Beamish is in his fourth season and has an overall record of 14-73.
ABOUT THE HAWKS - Monday at 7:30 p.m.
Quincy has won two of its last three games. The team beat Hannibal-LaGrange (Mo.) (2-3), 83-51, and Pittsburg State (Kan.) (4-3), 80-74. The Hawks lost to Missouri Western State (5-2), 82-74, who is coached by former Peacock head coach, Brooks McKowen.
Tiernan Stynes leads Quincy in scoring with 17.4 ppg, while Ethyn Brown trails him with 14 ppg. Ethan Bolton and Jakeb both lead the team in rebounds with 5.8 each. Cameren Kincaid averages a team-high three apg, while Brown averages a team-high 2.5 spg.
The Hawks are coached by second-year head coach Brad Hoyt, who has an overall record of 13-20.
