INDIANAPOLIS - Kyle Hrncir earned the Great Lakes Valley Men's Basketball Player of the Week award on Monday. This marks the second POTW award for him in his career and also marks the first one of the season for Upper Iowa (3-1).

Hrncir averaged 22 points, eight rebounds, four assists and two steals last week against Central Missouri (4-2) and Purdue Northwest (0-3). He recorded a double-double against UCM, including seven offensive rebounds. In the 20-point comeback win against PNW, Hrncir scored 18 of his 20 points in the second half, with 10 of those coming in the final 10 minutes to secure the victory.

Nick Reid was the last player to win GLVC POTW for UIU on Jan. 20. He took home the award after averaging 31 points, 10 rebounds, along with an assist and a steal. The Peacocks totaled four weekly awards last season. 

The Peacocks have their home opener against Minnesota Crookston (1-2) on Friday at 1 p.m.
