THIS WEEK IN PEACOCK SOFTBALL… Upper Iowa will host their first three home double headers of the season. The Peacocks take on William Jewell on Saturday, Mar. 6, Rockhurst, Sunday, Mar. 7 and Quincy on Tuesday, Mar. 9. All three double headers will begin at 12 and 2 p.m.

SEASON REVIEW… The Peacocks sit at 11-23 overall and have posted a 1-7 record in the GLVC.
Reagan Church has been on the rise since the start of conference play as she has recorded a .466 batting average on 7-15 hitting. Church hit a team-high three hits against Drury and led the Peacocks with two runs on three at bats vs. Southwest Baptist. She leads UIU with three home runs on the year and has posted a .333 average at the plate this season.
Addyson Alber has thrived at the plate, hitting 2-3 with one run and an RBI against Illinois Springfield and she's coming off a 3-4 performance vs. SBU.
Serah Shafer has recorded at least one hit in every GLVC game this season. She posted five hits in the Peacocks double header against Southwest Baptist while adding a run and an RBI. Shafer leads the Peacocks with 14 stolen bases on 17 attempts and she ranks second on the team with 35 hits and 19 runs.
Delaney Vetter pitched 13 strikeouts over the weekend, highlighted by an eight-strikeout game against Drury. She has struck out eight or more batters five times on the year which includes a 14-strikeout performance against Glenville State.
PEACOCKS SEASON LEADERS…
CLASH WITH THE CARDINALS… William Jewell has posted a 19-19 record, but have gone 2-10 in the GLVC. Freshman Avery Reynolds has gone 9-9 on the mound with three shutouts on the season. She has struck out 39 batters and has recorded an ERA of 2.61. Senior Sabrina Olmo leads the Cardinals with a .328 batting average, with 39 hits and 20 runs scored. Olmo has hit two homers with two triples and has successfully stolen 13 bases in 14 attempts. Sophomore Amanda Chung has scored 14 runs on 27 hits and she ranks second in the conference with 13 doubles.
HASSLE WITH THE HAWKS… Rockhurst has recorded an 8-18 mark (3-9 GLVC) and are coming off consecutive victories over Maryville. Senior Kerstyn Finch leads the Hawks with 14 runs on 17 hits. She has recorded two homers with seven RBIs and has added seven stolen bases on the year. Fifth year Maya Gallagher leads the team with a .288 average and 19 hits. Gallagher hit a triple in their most recent victory over Maryville and has added two homers with six RBIs.
QUARREL WITH QUINCY… The Hawks sit at 14-18 on the year, posting the best conference record at 3-5. Senior Abbey Hultz has gone 7-7 on the mound with two shutouts. Hultz has struck out 55 batters and has recorded a 2.41 ERA while allowing a .249 batting average against. Junior Isabella Shields has hit a team-high .337 average with 32 hits and 13 runs. Shields hit a perfect 3-3 against Missouri S&T where she added her first triple of the season. Junior Allyson Maynard has hit a team-high 13 RBIs and she's recorded 19 hits with four doubles.
MARK YOUR CALENDARS… The Peacocks will hit the road for a pair of double headers against UMSL on Saturday, Apr. 13 and McKendree on Sunday, Apr. 14. Both match-ups will be held at 12 and 2 p.m.
