Box Score 2 The Peacocks competed in their third day at The Spring Games and defeated both of their opponents. UIU trumped Holy Family University 11-3 and downed Lynn University 10-6. Upper Iowa improved their overall record to 4-6 for the season and 3-3 at the Sleepy Hollow Sports Complex. The team takes a break from action tomorrow but will resume play on Thursday versus The College of Saint Rose at 10:15 a.m. and Grand Valley State University at 12:30 p.m.Â
Upper Iowa vs Holy Family University
Holy Family University jumped out to an early lead in the first inning against Upper Iowa after scoring two runs on two hits and two walks. They scored their third and final run in the third inning after recording two singles and being moved around the bases on a ground out.Â
The Peacocks didn't put themselves on the board until the third inning where they scored all six runs with two outs.
Reagan Church,
Rae VanMilligan and
Taylor Sedam each hit doubles while
Alli Schaffer and
Laila Pelds each recorded singles.Â
UIU scored their seventh run in the bottom of the fifth after being walked four times. The remainder of Upper Iowa's runs came in the sixth inning after two being walked twice and seeing hits from Church, VanMilligan and Schaffer.
Rae VanMilligan led the team with four RBI's in the contest, bringing around runners on a double in the third inning and a single in the fourth.Â
Abby Buckman earned the win on the mound for the Peacocks. She allowed five hits and one run over the course of four innings. She struck out four batters during her time in the circle.
Upper Iowa recorded nine hits in the contest.

Upper Iowa vs Lynn University
Ari Charles was perfect at the plate in Upper Iowa's 10-6 win over Lynn University. She went 5- for-5 and added one RBI in the contest. Taylor Sedam went 3-for-4 at the plate and gathered two RBI's.
The Peacocks made their way onto the scoreboard in the first inning, tallying three runs on four hits.
Lynn answered with two runs during their at-bat in the bottom of the first. They scored their runs on three singles and several errors made by Upper Iowa.
The Peacocks scored three more runs in the second inning. Charles, Pelds and
Samantha Jessie recorded singles and scored one to lead 4-2. With two outs on the board,
Reagan Church hit a double, scoring Pelds and VanMilligan.
Taylor Sedam then singles on a line drive to left field, scoring Church and giving UIU the 7-2 lead at the end of the inning.Â
The Fighting Knights scored an additional two runs in the third inning after having two runners on base that scored after a fly out to right field. They tallied another run in the fifth innings, closing the gap to trail by two runs (7-5).
The remainder of runs for Upper Iowa were scored in the seventh inning. They scored on three hits and one error committed by Lynn. The Fighting Knights brought home one more run in the bottom of the seventh, but were unable to catch up to the Peacocks as the final score was sealed at 10-6.Â
Delaney Vetter picked up the win in the circle for the Peacocks after throwing all seven innings and allowing eight hits and six runs. She walked one batter and struck out six during her time on the mound.
The Peacocks gathered a total of 17 hits in the contest while their opponent totaled eight.Â
