Box Score The Peacocks competed against two more teams in their second day of competition at the Sleepy Hollow Complex in Leesburg, Fla. Upper Iowa fell to Kentucky Wesleyan 5-2 and Lewis University 6-4.Â
Ari Charles led the team at the plate as she combined for five hits between the two games. Tomorrow, the Peacocks face Holy Family University at 9 a.m. and Lynn University at 11:30 a.m.Â
Upper Iowa vs Kentucky Wesleyan
The first inning started off with singles by Charles and
Samantha Jessie. They recorded three stolen bases between the two of them. Ari stole home and Sam advanced on two ground outs, bringing the Peacocks their only two runs of the game.
Kentucky Wesleyan gathered three runs in the first inning on four hits. They hit a home run over right field to bring around three people and give them the early 3-2 lead.Â
The Panthers scored their final two runs in the second inning after being walked five times. The 5-2 score held for the entirety of the game.
The Peacocks had the bases loaded in the third inning, but were unable to convert any runs. Charles and
Delaney Vetter each hit a single and remained on base in the top of the seventh, but the inning was closed on a fielder's choice during the next at-bat.
Both teams were clean in the field as neither of them committed a single error in the contest. Upper Iowa out-hit their opponents 7-6.
Rylee McGonigle suffered the loss on the mound for Upper Iowa. She pitched one inning, allowing three runs on four hits.Â

Upper Iowa vs Lewis University
The Peacocks and Flyers were tied 4-4 in the top of the ninth inning when a wild pitch from Upper Iowa's pitcher allowed Lewis University to score two and win the game 6-4. UIU out-hit their opponents nine to five in their defeat.
Upper Iowa was first on the scoreboard in the third inning as their first run was batted in by
Laila Pelds as she cracked one to right field, earning herself a double and bringing
Serah Shafer home. Before her plate appearance, Shafer walked and was moved to second on a sacrifice bunt by Charles.
Lewis University scored three of their runs in the fourth inning. Passed balls and a dropped third strike allowed the Flyers to bring their first runner home. Two more scored during the next at-bat and Lewis closed the inning with the 3-1 lead.
UIU scored an additional two runs in the fourth inning. Shafer and Charles started things off, each recording a single. Shafer was caught stealing home but Charlies successfully stole two bases before being brought in by
Samantha Jessie who put the ball out in left field.
Rae VanMilligan earned herself an RBI after bringing in their second run of the inning after hitting a single to right field.Â
The game remained tied 3-3 after the seventh, forcing the teams to go extra innings. Both teams scored one run in the eighth inning.
The Peacocks committed an error on the first play of the ninth inning. Therefore, Lewis' runner that was placed second to start the inning advanced to third as the batter made it to first. The Flyers then scored on a wild pitch. Their next run crossed the plate after the next batter flew out to center field and the runner on third tagged up before coming home.Â
Upper Iowa was unable to score any runs in the bottom of the ninth despite having the bases loaded.
Delaney Vetter was in the circle for the entire nine innings. She allowed five hits and four runs in her time while walking three batters and striking out seven.
