THIS WEEK IN PEACOCK VOLLEYBALL … Upper Iowa is back on the road this weekend for two more conference outings as they face the University of Indianapolis on Friday, Nov. 3 at 5 p.m. and Lewis University on Saturday, Nov. 4 at 3 p.m. The Peacocks come into Friday's match with a 5-4 conference record and an overall mark of 10-13.

RECAP OF LAST WEEKEND… UIU opened last weekend with a valiant effort against the third-ranked team in the nation, University of Missouri-St. Louis, but fell in three sets with scores of 25-22, 25-16 and 25-20. UMSL executed well at the net as they put down 46 kills Friday night, equaling 15.3 per set, hitting just above their team average of 14.9. The Tritons tallied 19 kills in the first set, while the Peacocks mustered their high of the evening with 13. UMSL's hitting percentage was .228, while UIU hit .163.
In Saturday's match, the Peacocks came away with their fifth conference win as they defeated McKendree on Saturday 3-2. After the Peacocks dropped the first two sets 25-22 and 25-20, they came to life as they won the remaining three sets with scores of 25-20, 25-13 and 15-9.
Lydia Imbrogno had a monstrous evening as she recorded a career-high of 25 kills with a .344 hitting percentage to help propel the team to their positive result.
SCOUTING THE GREYHOUNDS… Indianapolis ranks eighth in the overall standings in the GLVC with a 4-5 conference record. They have dropped five of their last six games, and are currently on a three-game losing streak, falling to Lewis (3-1), Missouri S&T (3-0) and Maryville (3-2). The Greyhounds rank fourth in the conference in hitting percentage with .248. They are led at the net by Sophia Parlanti who has recorded 282 kills this season, an average of 3.36 per set. Close behind her is Hannah Sabotin with 209 kills (2.75). She ranks second in the conference in hitting percentage with .443.
SCOUTING THE NO. 13 FLYERS… The Flyers have spent the season climbing the AVCA National rankings and were tabbed 13th in the last poll. They rank third in the GLVC with a 7-2 mark, behind Missouri-St. Louis and Quincy who are both 9-0. Lewis is third in the GLVC for kills (13.83 per set), hitting percentage (.257) and assists (12.31 per set). Lauren Stenman is third in the conference in assists with 10.60 per set. Megan Schlechte paces the team in kills with 327 (3.55 per set).
GLVC STANDINGS… The top eight teams at the end of the regular season will earn berths to the post-season conference tournament. The current standings are listed below.

AMONG THE ELITE… The GLVC holds representation from four teams in this week's AVCA/Taraflex Division II Top 25 poll. Missouri, St. Louis is the highest on the list as they ranked third again this week. Lewis remained in the number 13 spot, while Quincy moved up to 20th and Rockhurst came in at the 24th spot once again. The GLVC has the second-most teams of any conference ranked in this week's poll, just slightly behind the Northern Sun Intercollegiate Conference who had representation from five teams after this week's rankings.
ON THE HORIZON… The Peacocks host one final homestand to wrap up the regular season next weekend. They welcome Missouri S&T on Friday, Nov. 10 at 6 p.m. and Maryville on Saturday, Nov. 11 at 3 p.m.
