The Northern Sun Intercollegiate Conference announced that 758 student-athletes have earned NSIC All-Academic honors for the 2021-22 winter athletic season. For Upper Iowa, 31 student-athletes were named to the NSIC All-Academic Team of Excellence, while 14 earned NSIC All-Academic Team honors.

To be eligible for the NSIC All-Academic Team of Excellence, a student-athlete must have a 3.60 cumulative GPA or higher, while NSIC All-Academic Team members must have a 3.20 cumulative GPA or higher. In total, 394 student-athletes were named to the NSIC All-Academic Team of Excellence, while 289 earned NSIC All-Academic Team honors.

Additionally, the student-athlete must be a member of the varsity traveling team and in at least their second year of competition at their current institution (true freshmen, red-shirt freshmen and ineligible athletic transfers are not eligible). Furthermore, the student-athlete must have completed at least one full academic year at their current institution (student must be in at least their 3rd academic-year-semester at their institution).

Five of Upper Iowa's winter sports sponsored by the NSIC garnered all-academic honors; including 13 from men's basketball, nine each from women's basketball and men's indoor track and field, eight wresters and six from the women's indoor track and field team.
