The Upper Iowa men and women's track and field teams were in action on Saturday at the Holst Invitational hosted by Concordia University, St. Paul at Sea Foam Stadium in St. Paul, Minn. No team scores were tallied at the event, but the Peacocks broke four program records at the event and claimed twenty-five top-ten finishes between the two teams.

RECORD BREAKERS… The record breakers included
Serianna Dehmlow in the 10,000-meter race,
Teddy Ayden in the 200-meter dash,
Deion Jones in the 400-meter hurdles and UIU's 4x100-meter relay team which consisted of
Kaden Ludwig, Ayden,
Cameron Green and
Paul Marchand. Dehmlow placed 11
th in the 10K race in a time of 41:41.69, while Ayden raced to third place in the 200-meters in a time of 22.21 seconds just .17 seconds behind the top time of the day. Jones made his turn around the track and over the hurdles in a time of 56.24 seconds to place third. UIU's 4x100-meter relay team ran the top time of the day at 42.66 seconds.

WOMEN IN THE TOP TEN… UIU claimed seven top-ten finishes at the event. Leading the way was a trio of runner-up finishes by
Cassiddy Wilson in the 400-meter hurdles in a time of 1:05.17, as well as both relay teams for the Peacocks. The team of
Ellie Loesch,
Christonna Shafranski,
Jenna Ross and
Zakaria Fuller ran the 4x100-meter relay in a time of 52.56 seconds, while the quartet of Wilson, Shafranski, Loesch and Ross ran the 4x400-meter relay in a time of 4:02.65. Loesch claimed a pair of top-ten individual times in the 100-meter (12.44 seconds, 9th) and the 200-meter dash (26.02 seconds, 8th). Shafranski placed fifth in the 400-meters in a time of 1:00.29.
Ashley Donovan scored the final top-ten finish in the 3,000-meter steeplechase with a seventh-place finish with a time of 12:55.90.

MEN IN THE TOP TEN… The Peacocks grabbed 18 top-ten finishes at the invite. In addition to the record-breaking and top time in the 4x100-meter relay, UIU scored a pair of second-place marks and three third-place finishes. The 4x400-meter relay team of Ludwig, Green,
Nathan Goranson and Jones placed second in a time of 3:28.40.
Jaylen Hobson also posted a second-best mark in the long jump with a leap of 6.86 meters. Ayden added third and fourth place finishes in the 200-meter (22.21 seconds) and the 100-meter dashes (10.96 seconds), respectively. Green ran the 400-meter race in a time of 50.91 meters to place third, while Jones' record-breaking run in the 400-meter hurdles landed him in third as well.

Ludwig got around the track once in a time of 50.93 seconds for a fourth-place finish in the 400-meters and added a tenth-place run in the 200-meter dash (22.85 seconds). Marchand placed fifth in the 100-meter dash in 11.01 seconds.
David Snider finished fifth in the 10,000-meter race crossing the finish line in 36:11.33, while
Andrew Paskey added a fifth-place mark and one sixth-place finish in the javelin (26.73 meters) and the 400-meter hurdles (1:02.40), respectively. Goranson placed eighth in the 1,500-meter race in a time of 4:15.54, while
Caden Wendt hit a mark of 12.70 meters in the shot put to place eighth and
Brady Krupa placed eighth with a height of 2.75 meters in the pole vault to finish eighth. The final top-ten finish came in the 3,000-meter steeplechase as
Grant Dieken finished tenth in a time of 10:38.75.

UP NEXT… Some of the Peacock individuals may compete in the Drake Relays in Des Moines, Iowa on Apr. 22-24, while others will compete at Mt. Mercy University in Cedar Rapids, Iowa on Apr. 24.
