This Week in Peacock Wrestling… The No. 16 Peacocks host the No. 25 Rangers of the University of Wisconsin-Parkside on Thursday night, Jan. 28. The dual has been moved up a half hour to accommodate the extra matches that will follow the dual. UIU and UWP will meet in the middle of the mat to open their dual at 6:30 p.m. Parkside is an affiliate member of the Northern Sun Conference in wrestling beginning this season. The Peacocks come into the match at 1-2 after a pair of close home losses to Northern State University and No. 11 Minnesota State University, Mankato. The Rangers enter the night with an identical 1-2 record on the year after losses to Augustana University and Northern State.

Attendance Policy… The following Upper Iowa Athletic Home Events attendance policies are in place for UIU's home dual this Thursday. Attendance will be invite-only, but the amount has increased from the previous two duals. Each UIU student-athlete that weighs in for competition and coach will be allowed four (4) tickets per game. Visiting teams will still not be provided tickets at this time. A total of 30 tickets will be made available to Upper Iowa students for each contest. Tickets will be awarded using a lottery system. Ticket requests must be submitted by Wednesday, Jan. 27 at 8 p.m. To enter the student ticket lottery, fill out the following form - Student Tickets. The awarded ticket lists for each event will be announced by 10 a.m. on Thursday.

Live Options… Because attendance at the dual is very limited, both Peacock and Ranger fans can follow the action through the links above for live scoring or a free webcast online or stream the dual with the new NSIC Network app on Roku and Fire devices, as well as Apple and Android televisions. The dual will also be broadcast live on KCRG-TV 9.3 across eastern Iowa. Fans can also navigate to UIUPeacocks.com/Live to choose from the live options.

NCAA Rankings… The first regular season NWCA Division II Team and Individual rankings have been released and the Upper Iowa Peacocks (1-2, 1-2 NSIC) are ranked No. 16 in the country with 25 points. The Peacocks boast five individuals in the rankings including No. 11 Kaden Anderlik (125), No. 11 Tate Murty (141), No. 6 Chase Luensman (157), No. 8 Myron Crawford (174) and No. 8 Dalton Hahn (184). Anderlik is 2-1 on the season with a win over then-No. 6 Cole Jones of MSU Moorhead and a two-point loss to No. 9 Trenton McManus of Minnesota State. Murty is 1-2 on the year gaining a victory at MSU Moorhead over then-No. 11 Mason Schulz by major decision 11-0. Luensman has been on fire to start the year with a 3-0 record which includes a win over No. 12 Caden Moore of Northern State and two bonus-point wins against the Dragons and Mavericks. Crawford is 2-1 on the season with his only blemish coming in overtime to No. 3 Trevor Turriff of Minnesota State. Hahn joins Luensman with an undefeated 3-0 record; the senior defeated a then-ranked Marcus Placide of NSU in the opener and then took care of business against the Dragons and Mavericks.

Reading Up on the Rangers… Parkside is 1-2 on the season after losses to Augustana at home (21-17) and to Northern State on the road (20-12). The Rangers earned their first NSIC victory at home last Thursday when they defeated Southwest Minnesota State University 28-6 behind eight wins in the ten bouts including technical falls by No. 4 Joe Arroyo (125) and Shane Gantz (165). Arroyo, Gantz and Reece Worachek (184) lead the Rangers this season with perfect 3-0 records, while Lucas Shevikhoven (133) has registered a 2-1 mark through the first three duals.
