Getting to know UIU Golf’s Nolan Leaton

In today's virtual interview, Pete the Peacock gets to know UIU golfer Nolan Leaton. Originally from Wilton, Iowa, Nolan came to Fayette two years ago from Iowa Wesleyan College and Wilton High School. He is majoring in business administration and finance.

Due to the COVID-19 pandemic and the cancellation of the spring season, the Upper Iowa Athletics Department is spending the next few months spotlighting many of our Peacock student-athletes whose spring seasons came to a premature end.
 
In today's virtual interview, Pete the Peacock gets to know UIU golfer Nolan Leaton. Originally from Wilton, Iowa, Nolan came to Fayette two years ago from Iowa Wesleyan College and Wilton High School. He is majoring in business administration and finance.

PETE: How would you describe yourself in three words?          
NOLAN: Sarcastic, determined and fun

PETE: What made you want to be a collegiate student-athlete?        
NOLAN: My passion for golf

PETE: What have you learned about what it takes to be a student-athlete?          
NOLAN: You have to dedicated

PETE: What is your favorite way to de-stress?      
NOLAN: Play Xbox and listening to music

PETE: What advice would you give to your 14-year old self?   
NOLAN: Learn from mistakes that are made

PETE: What is something most people don't know about you?          
NOLAN: I have 40 pairs of shoes

PETE: What is your favorite thing about your hometown?       
NOLAN: The community involvement

PETE: What is your favorite thing about Fayette?
NOLAN: The small-town atmosphere

PETE: How do you want to be remembered?        
NOLAN: As someone who always had fun but could be serious when the time came

PETE: What are the top three things on your bucket list?         
NOLAN: Play Augusta National, travel to Australia, catch a shark

PETE: What is your dream job if money wasn't a factor? Why?          
NOLAN: Stay at home father. I could golf everyday

PETE: Who are three people (dead or alive) you'd love to have dinner with?        
NOLAN: My grandfather, Justin Thomas, and Tiger Woods

PETE: What is your most memorable sports moment?  
NOLAN: Making a hole in one

PETE: What fictional character (movie, TV show, book, cartoon, etc.) would you want to be for a day? Why?     
NOLAN: Peter Griffin because his character is hilarious

NOLAN: Chili

NOLAN: Australia. I would want to visit my mates and see a kangaroo.
