INDIANAPOLIS - The Great Lakes Valley Conference (GLVC) announced the all-conference selections on Monday for the 2025-26 men's golf season. Owen Davison was selected to the All-GLVC Second Team, while Christian Burkhart was the team's representative for the James R. Spalding Sportsmanship Award.
Davison notches the first Upper Iowa golfer to earn All-GLVC honors since joining the conference in 2023-24. Logan Schweinefus and Chris Cooksley were the last Peacocks to receive All-Conference honors in the 2021-22 season. Schweinefus was named to the First Team All-NSIC, while Cooksley was named to the Second Team All-NSIC.
Davison's best finish was the Wartburg Spring Invite, when he placed first with a score of 138 (-6). He led the tournament in birdies with nine and was fifth in pars with 24. The La Crescent, Minnesota native shot a career-low 67 (-5) in the second round.
Burkhart received the James R. Spalding Sportsmanship Award, given to a student-athlete who has distinguished herself through sportsmanship and ethical behavior. These individuals must also be in good academic standing while also demonstrating good citizenship outside of the sports-competition setting. Burkhart is now eligible to become one of UIU's two Spalding Sportsmanship Award winners, which will be announced at the end of the academic year.
The junior from Urbana finished a season-best fifth place at the Wartburg Spring Invitational. He shot 144 (E). Burkhart had an eagle on hole two of the meet and tied for 11th in birdies with six.
