PERU, Ind. - Upper Iowa men's golf teed off for its final time of the season at the GLVC Championships on Wednesday and Thursday. The tournament was held at the Rock Hollow Golf Club in Peru, Indiana.
UIU finished 11th as a team with an overall score of 936 (+72). The team's best round was the second round when they shot 305 (+17). The Peacocks also shot 313 (+25) in the first round and 318 (+30) in the third round. They tied for a tournament sixth-best 168 pars.
Joseph Grau took a team-best 44th place, scoring 232 (+16). He also led the team in pars with 32. Owen Davison finished 51th, shooting 234 (+18). Christian Burkhart boasted 60th, totaling 138 (+22).
Jack Miller tied for 63rd, shooting 142 (+26). Burkhart, Davison, Miller and Grau all recorded six birdies. Jayden Rios and Ethan Cahalan tied for 68th, totaling 145 (+29).
Missouri S&T led the field with an impressive 858 (-6), finishing six strokes ahead of Missouri-St. Louis at 865 (+1). Drury (Mo.) secured third place with 870 (+6), while UIndy rounded out the top four at 887 (+23). The tournament concludes on Friday with the top four teams competing in match play to determine the conference champion team.
Gaige Lewis of Drury won the tournament individually, shooting 210 (-6). He shot 69 (-3) in round one and three in the tournament. Trigg Lindahl took second, totaling 211 (-5). Cole Komyati finished third, scoring 214 (-2).
