Due to the COVID-19 pandemic and the cancellation of the spring season, the Upper Iowa Athletics Department is spending the next few months spotlighting many of our Peacock student-athletes whose spring seasons came to a premature end.
 
In today's virtual interview, Pete the Peacock gets to know UIU golfer Hunter Schulte. Hunter is a senior from Winthrop, Iowa who came to Fayette four years ago from East Buchanan High School. He is majoring in accounting and financial management.

PETE: How would you describe yourself in three words?          
HUNTER: Hardworking, determined, and approachable

PETE: What made you want to be a collegiate student-athlete?        
HUNTER: Taking my golf game to the next level and pushing myself to get better on and off the course.

PETE: What have you learned about what it takes to be a student-athlete?          
HUNTER: It takes time management and requires you to do things on your own

PETE: What is your favorite way to de-stress?      
HUNTER: Watching Netflix or having bonfires with friends

PETE: What advice would you give to your 14-year old self?   
HUNTER: Set a goal early and make continuous strides to achieve it while having fun.

PETE: What is something most people don't know about you?          
HUNTER: I live on a farm

PETE: What is your favorite thing about your hometown?       
HUNTER: It's a small town atmosphere where everyone knows everyone.

PETE: What is your favorite thing about Fayette?
HUNTER: Be able to get to know everyone on the small campus

PETE: What are the top three things on your bucket list?         
HUNTER: Traveling! I'd like to go to places like New York and Italy

PETE: What is your dream job if money wasn't a factor? Why?          
HUNTER: A professional athlete. Sports have always been in my life and I love keeping up to date with the sporting world.

PETE: Who are three people (dead or alive) you'd love to have dinner with?        
HUNTER: Tiger Woods, Stephen A. Smith, and Will Smith

PETE: What is your most memorable sports moment?  
HUNTER: Winning a state championship in golf as a team my senior year

HUNTER: Dwight Schrute from The Office

HUNTER: Steak and potatoes
