Due to the COVID-19 pandemic and the cancellation of the spring season, the Upper Iowa Athletics Department is spending the next few months spotlighting many of our Peacock student-athletes whose spring seasons came to a premature end.
In today's virtual interview, Pete the Peacock gets to know the Schweinefus siblings who compete for the UIU men's and women's golf teams. Logan and Jaden both came to Fayette from Ossian, Iowa and South Winneshiek High School. Logan is a senior majoring in agricultural business, while Jaden is a sophomore majoring in elementary education.
PETE: How would you describe yourself in three words?
LOGAN: Reliable, determined, and focused
JADEN: Easygoing, kind, and happy
PETE: What made you want to be a collegiate student-athlete?
LOGAN: My love for the game of golf and desire to continue competing
JADEN: My brothers and my cousin all played collegiate golf, and I've always wanted to play at the next level as well!
PETE: What have you learned about what it takes to be a student-athlete?
LOGAN: Time management is crucial.
JADEN: It's a lot of work and requires a lot of time management
PETE: What is your favorite way to de-stress?
LOGAN: Helping my dad in the fields
JADEN: I like to de-stress by taking a nap
PETE: What advice would you give to your 14-year old self?
LOGAN: Try and study hard because if you want to be in the Scuba Squad, you have to be smart
JADEN: Don't feel pressured to do what everyone else is doing, be yourself!
PETE: What is something most people don't know about you?
LOGAN: I am dyslexic
JADEN: I am right hand dominant but I golf left handed.
PETE: What is your favorite thing about your hometown?
LOGAN: The size. I love being from a small town.
JADEN: Its small, safe, and close knit.
PETE: What is your favorite thing about Fayette?
LOGAN: I'm only 30 minutes from home.
JADEN: All of the people and professors are super kind!
PETE: How do you want to be remembered?
LOGAN: Not like the delivery guy from Big Daddy because I can read
JADEN: I want to be remembered as a good role model/leader who is kind and willing to put the effort in.
PETE: What's the best thing that has happened to you in the last week?
LOGAN: I shot back-to-back 65's while playing with my dad
JADEN: I have been quarantined in my house, so I have gotten tons of family time!
PETE: What are the top three things on your bucket list?
LOGAN: Play golf at St. Andrews, Pebble Beach, and Pine Valley
JADEN: Travel to Paris, get married, have kids
PETE: What is your dream job if money wasn't a factor? Why?
LOGAN: Be a professional golfer. Every athlete wants to play for a living.
JADEN: Be a stay at home mom
PETE: Who are three people (dead or alive) you'd love to have dinner with?
LOGAN: Tiger Woods, Kevin Hart, and Jordan Belfort
JADEN: Beyoncé, 2010 Justin Bieber, and Hannah Montana
PETE: What is your most memorable sports moment?
LOGAN: Hitting a hole in one on the 5
th hole of the third round in the 2019 Northwest Amateur
JADEN: Traveling to my first ever collegiate golf tournament
PETE: What fictional character (movie, TV show, book, cartoon, etc.) would you want to be for a day? Why?
LOGAN: Prince Charming so I can kiss Cinderella
JADEN: Elsa from Frozen. Being able to control the ice here in Iowa would be nice
PETE: Do you have any collections? If so, what?
LOGAN: Yes. My Godfather gave me a collectible tractor for Christmas every year growing up. I still have all of them in their boxes.
PETE: Do you believe in aliens or ghosts? If yes, why?
LOGAN: Yes, if not, they'll haunt you
JADEN: I believe in ghosts
PETE: What is your dream vacation spot? Why? What would you want to do there?
LOGAN: My dream vacation spot is Hawaii. I'd want to play The Plantation Course (host course of the PGA Tour's Sentry Tournament of Champions) and visit Pearl Harbor
JADEN: Bali, because it looks absolutely beautiful and sounds cool
PETE: What is your favorite restaurant in the world? What do you order?
LOGAN: Flemmings in West Des Moines, Iowa. I order the Filet Mignon
JADEN: Texas Roadhouse. I order steak, sweet potato, and Caesar salad.
PETE: What does your dream life after retirement look like?
LOGAN: Living in Arizona during the winter months, traveling the world, watching my grandkids grow up, and playing a lot of golf.
JADEN: Traveling as much as possible!
PETE: What is your favorite non-sport hobby?
LOGAN: Fishing
JADEN: Playing cards with my family
PETE: What are three things you cannot live without? Why?
LOGAN: Golf clubs, golf balls, and tees. I couldn't play golf without them.
JADEN: My phone, Netflix, and water
PETE: If you could sing a duet with someone, who would it be? What song?
LOGAN: I'd sing Love Me Sexy with Jackie Moon
JADEN: Ariana Grande. 7 rings
PETE: What is one cause that you hold dear to your heart? Why?
LOGAN: Girl Scouts of America because I love their cookies
JADEN: Breast Cancer Awareness. I know many people who have had breast cancer or who are still currently fighting.
PETE: What is the priciest thing you've ever splurged on?
LOGAN: Golf clubs
JADEN: Rock Revival jeans when I was like 14
PETE: What is your go-to karaoke song?
LOGAN: Drive – Alan Jackson
JADEN: Party in the USA – Miley Cyrus

LOGAN: Anything and everything related to golf
