The Upper Iowa men's varsity bowling team placed 7th this weekend at the Great Lakes Bowling Conference in Bloomington, Minn. The Peacocks finish was good enough to beat 11 other teams competing at the conference.
The Upper Iowa men's reserve bowling team placed 4th at the GLBC. Their finish was good enough to place above five other teams.Â
On day one of competition in which teams were competing under the traditional format, the high game for the varsity team was a 278 from Joshua Edgin. Edgin finished with 1107 pins on day one. The high series of day one belonged to Michael Gunn who collected 1,167 pins over the six traditional games. Also competing for the varsity team was Dakota Dudley (1094), DJ Armbrecht (1071) and Michael Costello (937).Â
The high game for the reserve team came from Cody Lawrence with a 224, Lawrence also led the reserves' high series with a six game total of 1,064 pins. Also competing for the reserve team was Devin Lentz (1000), Brian Roulson (982), Aaron Rogers (930), and Josh Delcorso (812).
On Sunday, the teams competed in a sixteen set baker rules contest. The varsity team had a total pin fall of 2,839 on day two and averaged a 177 per set. The reserve team had a total pin fall of 2,619 and averaged a 164 per set.
