THIS WEEKEND IN PEACOCK WOMEN'S SOCCER… Upper Iowa will be hosting a pair of Northern Sun Conference matches this weekend on Pattison Field in conjunction with UIU's Homecoming Weekend. The Peacocks are taking on the Dragons of Minnesota State University Moorhead on Friday at 1 p.m. and the Wolves of Northern State University on Sunday at noon. UIU (1-4-2, 1-2-1 NSIC) enters the weekend in ninth place with 4 points and in a tie with MSUM (3-2-2, 1-2-1 NSIC). Both squads are a point ahead NSU (3-3, 1-2 NSIC), who comes into the weekend with 3 points.
LIVE OPTIONS… Fans unable to attend the matches can follow along via live stats and a webcast, links can be found at UIUPeacocks.com/Live. Both matches will be streamed through the NSIC app on Roku and Amazon Fire devices, as well as Apple and Android televisions. The matches will also be broadcast live on KCRG-TV 9.3 acrosss the eastern half of Iowa.
LAST WEEKEND ON THE ROAD… The Peacocks went into action last weekend with just one goal on the scoreboard for the season, but marked the scoreboard four times in their two matches to earn a split. UIU scored first against Bemidji State University, last season's NSIC Champion, but fell 2-1 to the Beavers. On Sunday, the Peacocks notched their first win of the season and second shutout as they controlled the tempo against the University of Minnesota Crookston picking up a 3-0 win.
"FACI"NATING… Senior forward
Facienne Graham scored a pair of goals this past weekend notching one in each match. Graham has attempted the most shots on the team with 17 through the first 7 matches. Her pair of goals and an assist over the weekend earned her 5 points to lead Upper Iowa's offense.
Haley Ramberg and
Emma Fellowes scored the other two goals at Minnesota Crookston, while the team's first goal of the season came from the right foot of freshman
Aimee Kemper.
Jessica Kron has the only other assist for the squad.
LAST TIME THEY MET… In 2018, the Peacocks defeated MSU Moorhead 1-0 in Moorhead, Minn. last season, but dropped a 2-1 decision in Aberdeen, S.D. to Northern State. It was Graham who scored the only goal of the match with the Dragons in the 74
th minute to break a scoreless tie. In the match against the Wolves, both UIU and NSU exchanged goals less than two minutes apart midway through the first half, but an own goal in the 54
th minute put NSU ahead for good.

SCOUTING THE DRAGONS… MSUM went 0-2 at home last weekend, losing to Sioux Falls 1-0 and Southwest Minnesota State 2-1. In the loss to SMSU, freshman forward
Mckenzie Ickert scored the goal with an assist from
Jennifer Barnes. Ickert leads MSUM with two goals, two assists and six points. Junior
Jensen Odegaard has two goals, an assist and five points. Also scoring goals for MSUM this season are sophomore forward

Jacie Osier and senior forward
Maren Soupir. Steadland, Osier, Barnes and Brownell also have assists. In goal this season sophomore
Kayleigh Sedlacek has 28 saves and is 2-1-2 in 490 minutes of action. She has three shutouts this season. Senior
Kennedy Rodgers is 1-1 with 17 saves and a shutout.
SCOUTING THE WOLVES… The Wolves look to build more momentum after grabbing their first conference win of the season last weekend. Northern has found the back of the net six times so far this season averaging one goal per game, and holding their opponents to three total goals, averaging only half a goal per game. NSU has seen an abundance of corner kicks so far this season with 39 compared to the 22 corner kicks for their opponents. The Wolves have taken 61 shots this season averaging 10.2 shots per game.
Haley Wammock leads the team in shots with seven and three shots on goal for a .429 shot on goal percentage.
Morgan Bury continues to stand tall in net for the Wolves with a .921 save percentage after 544 minutes of play.
UP NEXT… The Peacocks will head back out on the road and head west for a pair of NSIC matches at Wayne State College and Augustana University on Friday and Sunday, Oct. 11 and 13.
