PEACOCK STORYLINES...

BUILDING MOMENTUM: The Peacocks split their six-game road trip last week, picking up the final three games to build their first winning streak of the conference season. After losing the first three games of the week, UIU bounced back with a big game two win at Bemidji State to snap its ten-game losing streak. UIU then swept Minnesota Crookston to build a three-game winning streak on Sunday behind outstanding pitching and timely hitting. Upper Iowa tallied 45 hits in the four games over the weekend after struggling with the bats at Augustana in the midweek. UIU never trailed UMC on Sunday in one of its best performances of the season.

BEST OUTINGS: Starting pitchers Erin Drahozal and Courtney Clayberg put together their best performances on Sunday in the circle. Drahozal did not give up a hit until the fourth inning of game one, and scattered just four hits all game to earn the win. The sophomore from Cedar Rapids, who usually gets the start in game two, was given the ball in game one and improved to 3-7 on the season. Drahozal allowed just two runs on the day as well. Clayberg got the start in game two for Upper Iowa, and put together one of her best performances in the circle this season as well. The sophomore from Ankeny, Iowa improved to 3-5 on the season after allowing just four hits and two runs in the complete game, and took a no-hit bid into the sixth.
