The Upper Iowa softball team and Head Coach
Amanda Bradberry have announced they have canceled their series with Winona State today due to rain in the forecast and have switched the weekend schedule to Friday/Saturday doubleheaders also due to inclement weather. With the change, the Peacocks will now host Minnesota Crookston on Friday with game one of the twin bill starting at 3 p.m.
That means Upper Iowa will welcome the Beavers of Bemidji State to Fayette on Saturday, April 26 as part of the team's senior-day festivities. The Peacocks and Beavers will begin their NSIC doubleheader at noon inside the Eischeid Softball Complex. UIU will honor its three seniors –
Kayla Bergman,
Brooklyn Koranda and
Adrienna Olson – during intermission of the BSU doubleheader.
Live stats and a live video feed will be available for each of the four games this Friday and Saturday as the Peacocks host UMC and BSU. Both of those are free of charge. Please see below for further schedule details.

THIS WEEK IN PEACOCK SOFTBALL... The Peacocks have shifted their weekend schedule around due to weather. Upper Iowa has canceled its series with Winona State today and has bumped the weekend schedule to Friday/Saturday doubleheaders. On Saturday, UIU will honor its seniors during intermission of the Bemidji State doubleheader, which is scheduled to begin at 12 p.m.
THE SERIES... Upper Iowa holds a firm lead in its series with Minnesota Crookston, 11-3, including a sweep at home last year. At the same time, the Peacocks hold an impressive 13-0 record against the Beavers of Bemidji State since the teams first met back in 2006. The last time UIU hosted BSU and UMC, the Peacocks scored a program-best 59 combined runs in those four games.
NOW WALK IT OFF... Upper Iowa played inspired softball on Tuesday as the team hosted 17th-ranked Augustana College for an NSIC doubleheader. The team trailed the Vikings, 5-1, in the second inning of game one before battling back to tie it at 5-all in the fourth. Augie was held scoreless for four straight innings, but added the go-ahead run in the top of the seventh to steal the first of two games, 6-5. The Peacocks' determination didn't falter though. UIU stormed back in game two thanks to a strong dominant defensive performance. Southpaw
Brooke Redmond was in full control as she went the distance against a very powerful Viking lineup. The sophomore struck out seven, allowed just five hits and earned the shutout from the rubber. The offense took a bit longer to come around, but UIU needed just one pitch to decide the outcome.
Lauren Marlinghaus connected on a walk-off home run in the seventh to put UIU out in front for good, 1-0. The jack was her fifth homer of the season and first walk-off of her UIU career. Click
