Games 39-40 at Sioux Falls NSIC Doubleheader begins at 12 p.m. Sioux Falls, South Dakota Sherman Park Field Live Stats

TODAY IN PEACOCK SOFTBALL... The Upper Iowa softball team will take on the Cougars of Sioux Falls University (26-11, 14-7 NSIC) at noon at Sherman Park Field. Live stats will be available for the game (please click on the link above). Then on Tuesday, the Peacoks will host the Vikings of Augustana College at 2 p.m. for a doubleheader at the Eischeid Softball Complex.

PEACOCKS ANNOUNCE A SCHEDULE CHANGE... Upper Iowa announced another slight change to the schedule this past week. UIU decided to move the doubleheader with the Vikings up a day due to predicted weather in Fayette on Wednesday. So now, the Peacocks and Vikings will get underway at 2 p.m. on Tuesday, April 22, instead of Wednesday, April 23. The game times will remain the same.

UPPER IOWA GETS BACK IN THE WIN COLUMN... Solid pitching and timely hits helped the Upper Iowa softball team get back in the win column on Friday afternoon in Marshall, Minnesota as the Peacocks swept Southwest Minnesota State in Northern Sun Conference action. Jacqueline Flood gave up just one run - unearned - off seven hits to the Mustangs in game one and Erica Kirgan notched the only RBI of the game to propel UIU to a 2-1 decision. Then in game two, the Peacocks relied on big hits as four Peacocks earned runs batted in including Tara Duran, Shelby Crist, Kirgan and Lauren Marlinghaus, who busted open game two with her fourth jack of the season in the fifth inning – a two-run blast to put UIU out in front 5-3 as the Peacocks clinched the victory and the sweep, 7-3.
