Game One Box Score

Game Two Box Score

The Peacocks and Marauders split their NSIC double header Saturday in Bismarck, N.D.  U-Mary took the first game 6-3, but Upper Iowa rallied in game two scoring a pair of runs with two outs in extra innings to win 6-4.  With the split, UIU is now 16-29 overall and 8-10 in the NSIC.

Game One Recap

Both teams put runs on the board in the third inning.  Upper Iowa scored a pair of runs on a Hailley Haning single to right with two on and two out after a Marauder error allowed the inning to continue.  The lead was short-lived though as the Marauders fired back with three runs on four hits and a Peacock error.  The final two runs of the inning were unearned.

U-Mary padded their lead with a run in the fifth, but Upper Iowa cut the gap right back to one in the sixth when Haning led the inning off with a solo shot to left.

The Marauders didn't let the Peacocks get any closer scoring a pair of insurance runs in the bottom of the sixth to set the final score at 6-4.

Jenna Hermsen took the loss allowing six runs, three were earned, on eight hits while striking out three batters.  At the plate, Haning's two hits provided all the runs for UIU.  Whitney Williams also contributed two hits to the cause.

Game Two Recap

Bailee Haberman pushed the first run of game two across in the top of the first with a grounder that score Wiliams and Kylee Knop followed with a single to score Haning and give UIU an early 2-0 lead.

U-Mary scored a run in the bottom of the inning and then took the lead, 3-2, with a pair of runs in the second inning.

The Peacocks rallied quickly to retake the lead, 4-3, in the third inning though.  Williams scored her second run of the game when a single by Haning was mishandled in the outfield and then Knop picked up her second rbi-single plating Haning with the go-ahead run.

The Marauders pulled even with a run in the sixth inning, and after both teams failed to score in the seventh, the game moved to extra innings.

With two outs in the eighth inning and one runner on for UIU, Erin Van Praag singled to center and Tara Duran was hit by a pitch to load the bases.  Katie Mnichowicz was hit by a pitch to force Rachael Anello home and walk to Williams plated Van Praag.

Knop got three ground outs in the bottom of the inning to end the game and claim the complete game win.  The senior threw eight innings and allowed four runs on seven while striking out two batters.

At the plate, Haning and Knop each picked up a pair of hits.
