This Week in Peacock Softball...
Upper Iowa is heading off campus for six games this week. The Peacocks will head east to Romeoville, Illinois to take on the Flyers of Lewis University in a rematch of their meeting at the Desert Stinger Classic in Las Vegas. Lewis took the first decision 6-2. After the double header, UIU will return to Fayette and prepare for their NSIC openers over the weekend. The Peacocks will travel to face the Dragons of Minnesota State University Moorhead on Saturday, Mar. 24, at 1 p.m. before taking on the Golden Eagles of the University of Minnesota, Crookston on Sunday, Mar. 25, at 1 p.m.
New Faces Taking the Lead…
A trio of Peacocks has taken the lead at the plate for UIU this season.
Hailley Haning is hitting .412 with five doubles and a homerun while patrolling centerfield.
Bailee Haberman reached the .400 mark last week with five doubles and a triple while manning left field.
Kylee Knop is hitting .400 at the plate and has posted a 5-7 record on the rubber with a 5.40 earned run average.
On the Horizon...
The Peacocks will open a six-game home stand next Wednesday, Mar. 28, with a 2 p.m. double header against the Golden Bears of Concordia University, St. Paul.
