Upper Iowa University Athletics

Tucker Wentzien averaged 20 points and 4.5 rebounds this weekend as the Peacocks split a pair of home games.  UIU defeated MSU Moorhead 71-62 on Friday night, but lost to Northern State 69-60 on Saturday.  Wentzien shot 52% (14-27) from the field including 3 of 6 from behind the three-point line.  The Solon, Iowa native now has 18 double-figure scoring outings this year, including the last nine straight games.
 
The Peacocks also got 12.5 points and 7 rebounds per game over the weekend from senior Sam Elgin.  Upper Iowa struggled from beyond the arc hitting only 27% (11-41) of their attempts.  The team will be on the road this weekend with a pair of NSIC cross-division match ups.  UIU will visit the Bulldogs of Minnesota Duluth on Friday and then take on the Huskies of St. Cloud State on Saturday.
