Mike Lewis enters his 14th season as the head coach of the Peacock men’s and women’s golf programs in 2024-25. Lewis came to Upper Iowa and the Fayette community from Edgewater and Hickory Grove Golf Courses in Oelwein, Iowa, where he was the Golf Professional and co-owner.
Lewis returned to the college game which he enjoyed so much success at the University of Northern Iowa. He competed for the Panthers from 1999-2003.
As a player, Lewis was an All-Missouri Valley Conference performer as a junior and senior winning four NCAA Division I tournaments. He was also a member of the Waterloo West High School’s state championship team in the fall of 1997 and was inducted into the school’s Hall of Fame in 1999. Lewis became a Callaway Staff Golf Professional in 2008 and has won five professional tournaments.
Prior to his work at both Edgewater and Hickory Grove in Oelwein, Lewis was a Touring Professional Golfer and also worked as an Assistant Golf Professional and Pro Shop Manager at Gates Park Golf Course in Waterloo, Iowa.
Lewis graduated from the University of Northern Iowa in 2003 with a Bachelor’s Degree in general studies.
