INDIANAPOLIS - Owen Davison was named GLVC Player of the Week on Wednesday. He becomes the first Peacock to receive this honor this season. 

Individually, Davison won the Wartburg Spring Invitational on March 28-29, shooting 138 (-6). He beat the next best golfer by five strokes. The La Crescent, Minnesota native scored 71 (-1) in the first round and a career-low 67 (-5) in the second round. 

He becomes the second UIU golfer to earn this honor since the program joined the GLVC. Tate Carlson won the award on Oct. 12, 2023

The Peacocks host the Upper Iowa Invitational on April 3-4 at Sunnyside Country Club in Waterloo. Upper Iowa then competes in the William Penn Invitational on April 13-14.

• Took first place at the Wartburg Spring Invitational with a score of 138 (-6)

• Shot rounds of 71 (-1) and 67 (-5) to win the tournament by five strokes

• Recorded his career-low round at 67 (-5), beating his previous best of 68 (-4) at the 2025 Wartburg Spring Invitational

• Led the tournament in birdies with nine and tied for the fifth-most pars with 24

• Tallied six birdies, 11 pars and one bogey in round two

• Helped the Peacocks finish second at the invite, one stroke behind Kirkwood CC in first place
