FAYETTE, Iowa - Peacock men's golf heads to tees off in the Wartburg Invitational this weekend. The meet take place at the Prairie Links Golf Course on Saturday and Sunday.
LAST TIME OUT
Upper Iowa competed in the NSIC Preview hosted by Winona State (Minn.) last weekend. The Peacocks placed 11th out of 15 teams with a score of 610 (+34).
Owen Davison led the Peacocks by tying for 16th place, after shooting 148 (+6). Jayden Rios finished 47th, scoring 155 (+9). Jack Miller and Ethan Cahalan tied for 64th, shooting (+12). Joseph Grau tied for 68th, scoring 157 (+13).
Christian Burkhart finished by tying for 80th, totaling 160 (+16). Jaxx Johnson placed 91st (+20), shooting 164 (+20). Ethan Andersen tied for 94th, scoring 167 (+23).
MEET INFO
There are 11 teams golfing in the tournament. Seven of the teams are from Iowa. The four out-of-state schools are Wisconsin Lutheran College, Macalester College (Wis.), Viterbo (Wis.) and Saint John's (Minn.).
The Prairie Links Golf Course is a par 72 course built in 1999. The farthest back tee is 6,495 and the course size itself is 245 acres. Denim and un-collared shirts are allowed at the course and every cart comes with a GPS. This course was also voted a top course in Iowa by Golf Advisor in 2018 and 2019.
2025 Wartburg Spring Invite
The Peacocks took second, shooting 597 (+21). Davison tied with former teammate Dylan Burns after scoring 147 (+3). Davis's lowest score was in the second round, shooting 68 (-4). Grau tied for 10th, after shooting 152 (+8) and scoring a 74 (+2) in the second round.
Burkhart tied for 16th, boasting 155 (+11). Rios tied for 22nd, recording a score of 156 (+12). Miller tied for 25th, shooting 158 (+14).
UP NEXT
UIU hosts the Upper Iowa Invitational on Friday, April 3, and Saturday, April 4, in Waterloo. The Peacocks then tee off at the William Penn Invite on Monday, April 13, and Tuesday, April 14, in Marshalltown.
