MANHEIM, Pa. - Upper Iowa totaled three ranked wrestlers in Thursday's National Wrestling Coaches Association (NWCA) Poll. Redshirt senior Ethen Doty (149), redshirt junior Lawson Losee (174) and redshirt freshman Braxten Westendorf (184) were all featured.
Doty is ranked No. 8 for the highest ranking of any Peacock. He has a 15-4 record this season. Losee is ranked No. 10 with a 9-1 record, and Westendorf is ranked No. 15 with a 19-4 record. Westendorf has won nine of his last 10 matches.
The Peacocks were the top team in the receiving votes category of the poll, coming it with 9.5 points. UIU's GLVC foes this weekend, McKendree and UIndy, are ranked No. 8 and No. 25, respectively.
Central Oklahoma remains the top team in the poll with 90.5 points and nine individuals ranked. Nebraska-Kearney is No. 2 with 81.5 points and nine ranked individuals. Gannon (Pa.) is third with 65 points, Grand Valley State (Mich.) is fourth with 63 points and Pittsburgh-Johnstown (Pa.) is fifth with 62 points.
Super Region 4 again leads all regions with 33 ranked wrestlers, and joins Super Region 6 with the most ranked teams with five each in the Top 25. UIU's region, Super Region 5, has 27 ranked wrestlers in the runner-up spot, while the four top-ranked wrestlers in Super Region 3 leads all regions.
This edition of the poll includes matches as of Jan. 19, 2026. The next edition of the NCAA Division II Coaches Association rankings will come out Feb. 19, 2026, with the NCAA Division II Super Regionals looming Feb. 28 and March 1.
Upper Iowa is in action on Thursday night against No. 8 McKendree at 7 p.m., which totals seven ranked individuals in the NWCA poll. UIU then faces No. 25 UIndy on Friday at 7 p.m. ET/6 p.m. CT, which totals four individually ranked wrestlers.
