HUDSON, Wis. - The Upper Iowa men's golf team took seventh place out of 13 teams at the 2025 Concordia-St. Paul/Minnesota State Fall Brawl at the par-71 Troy Burne GC. Graduate Owen Davison led the Peacocks, tying for 22nd place with a total of 147 (+5) over the two rounds.
The Peacocks shot 303 (+19) on Monday and 299 (+15) on Tuesday for a total of 604 (+34). This marks the second straight tournament that UIU has improved from its original score. Upper Iowa was 13 strokes behind Bemidji State (Minn.) in sixth and two strokes ahead of Minot State (N.D.) in eighth.Â
Davison led UIU on both days, shooting 74 (+3) on Monday and 73 (+2) on Tuesday. The graduate started the tournament two under par through the first 12 holes. He tied for the team high in birdies with six, four on Monday and two on Tuesday. He added 21 pars.Â
Christian Burkhart was not far behind Davison, tying for 27th, shooting 149 (+7) with rounds of 76 (+5) and 73 (+2). Burkhart shot two under par on Tuesday's front nine with four birdies. He tied Davison for the team lead in birdies with six while adding 20 pars.Â
William Benedict tied for 45th with a total of 153 (+11), shooting rounds of 77 (+6) and 76 (+5). He led the Peacocks in pars with 24 total, which also tied for the fifth-most by any golfer at the tournament.Â
Ethan Cahalan shot rounds of 79 (+8) and 77 (+6), tying for 54th with a total of 156 (+14). Joseph Grau shot 158 (+16) to tie for 58th. Jayden Rios competed as an individual with a score of 168 (+26).
Winona State (Minn.) won the tournament by 12 strokes after shooting a miraculous 272 (-12) in Monday's first round. The Warriors finished with a team score of 555 (-13). Concordia-St. Paul (Minn.) placed second with a score of 567 (-1), and Sioux Falls (S.D.) took third with a score of 569 (+1).Â
Winona State's Peyton Coahran won the Fall Brawl with a score of 137 (-5), shooting 66 (-5) in round one and 71 (E) in round two. His first round score tied for the lowest round by any golfer. Charles Hanson of Sioux Falls and Luke Maas of Winona State tied for second at 138 (-4).Â
The Peacocks continue the fall season next week at Winona State's The Jewel Invitational. Competition is on Sept. 22-23 at The Jewel Golf Club in Lake City, Minnesota.
