FAYETTE, Iowa- Upper Iowa Volleyball was picked 12
th in Monday's Great Lakes Valley Conference (GLVC) Preseason Poll. The Peacocks finished 37 points, three points above Southwest Baptist and 19 points above William Jewell.
UIU returns several team leaders from 2024.
Lydia Imbrogno who led the team in service aces, was second in kills (152), and second in digs (248). She also placed top five on the team in both blocks (24) and assists (38). They also return
McKenna Diermeier who led the team in digs (424) and was second in assists (63).
Martha Pace returns after being fourth in digs (165) and fifth in assists (21).
2024 GLVC Tournament Champion Lewis University was voted first with a total of 152 points and five first place votes. Quincy received 150 points and four first place votes to take second place and Rockhurst placed third with 147 points and two first place votes.
The preseason poll is selected by the league's head coaches, who, per GLVC Bylaws, are not permitted to vote for their own team.
Upper Iowa begins the season by traveling to Detroit, Mich., to compete in the Wayne State (Mich.) Invitational. UIU opens the tournament against Cedarville (Ohio) on Friday, Sept. 6, at 10 a.m.
