The Upper Iowa University football team and coaching staff led by Head Coach Jason Hoskins announced its class of recruits for the upcoming season. The class includes commitments from 36 young men to attend Upper Iowa and compete for the 2025 Peacock football team.

"What a great class our assistant coaches put together," said Hoskins. "I couldn't be prouder of our staff. We want to ensure we get the most talented players we can, but also want football players. The young men we signed today fit that mold; they are solid players that enjoy playing the game of football.  All of these guys are driven to be successful and want to leave a legacy at a program.  I'm excited to get them all on campus and get to work!

The program is coming off a historic seven-win season in 2024 and will look to continue building on that success in the upcoming seasons.

"I like where our program is headed," noted Hoskins. "The group we currently have on campus is working hard and has some lofty goals. This group of signees will fit into what we are building here at Upper Iowa.  With the staff we have and the group of young men in our program, things are headed in the right direction here in Fayette, and we are looking forward to taking the field."

Upper Iowa signed 16 commits that hail from Iowa, 14 from Illinois, three from Wisconsin, and one from the states of Missouri, Texas and California. The recruiting class showcases nine offensive linemen, seven wide receivers, six defensive backs, five defensive linemen, three tight ends, two quarterbacks, two running backs and two linebackers.

"We addressed some needs we had in our program," said Hoskins. The offensive line is a position group in which we needed to add some quality depth and some players that can push for playing time immediately. We feel confident that we were able to address that need.  We also addressed our need at defensive back.  This is an extremely talented group that was signed today.  Not only does this help us in the back row, but these are the guys you need to play on your special teams units. We got more athletic as a team today with the addition of these young men."
