FINDLAY, Ohio - Upper Iowa football's Mante Morrow earned D2CCA All-Super Region Three First Team honors on Thursday. The senior receiver becomes the first player since 2015 to win D2CCA First Team honors.
Morrow becomes the fourth player since 2009 to earn D2CCA All-Region First Team honors. Linebacker Alex Wahl in 2015 was the most recent Peacock to earn First Team recognition.
This season, Morrow totaled 900 receiving yards with 12 touchdowns, totaling a career-high in both categories. He ranked sixth in the country in receiving touchdowns and 12th in receiving yards per game. The senior receiver earned an All-GLVC First Team selection for the second time in his career and was also a Harlon Hill Trophy Nominee.
Morrow was one of seven honorees for the GLVC conference. He joined Quincy's Jaylin Vaughn and UIndy's Ryne Buttz as the three first-team selections from the conference.
MSU Moorhead quarterback Jack Strand was named the Offensive Player of the Year in the region. Ashland defensive end Michael Shimek picked up Defensive Player of the Year honors.
First Team selections automatically qualify for the D2CCA All-American ballot, voted on by Sports Information Directors across the nation.
The Peacocks are hitting the road on Thursday for the Albanese Candy Bowl on Saturday. Kickoff against Hillsdale (Mich.) (6-5, 5-4 GLVC) is scheduled for 1 p.m. at Hobart High School in Hobart, Indiana.
