MANHEIM, Pa. - The Upper Iowa men's wrestling team moved up six spots in the National Wrestling Coaches Association (NWCA) poll on Thursday. The Peacocks came in tied for 16th with Adams State (Colo.), receiving 28 points.
The Peacocks were previously tied for 22nd in the preseason poll. Upper Iowa was one of three teams from the GLVC ranked in the top 25, with McKendree coming in at No. 11 and Maryville tying for 22nd. UIndy was picked outside the top 25, receiving 15.5 votes and Quincy (Ill.) received seven votes.
Three Peacocks were ranked individually, with Ethen Doty (149) at No. 5, Lawson Losee (174) at No. 2 and Geoffery Freeman (197) at No. 12.
Losee moved up two spots after defeating Minnesota State's Drake Hayward this past weekend at the Luther Open. Hayward is ranked No. 3 at 174. Doty and Freeman each moved up one spot.
Nebraska Kearney remained at No. 1, receiving 76 points in the poll. Lander (S.C.) came in at No. 2 and has the most individuals ranked of any team with nine. Tiffin (Ohio) is at No. 3, receiving 57 points.
Super Region 3 comes in with 31 ranked wrestlers, while Super Region 5 is not far behind with 30. Super Region 1 and Super Region 6 both have three top-ranked wrestlers apiece. Super Regions 5 and 6 both have six teams ranked in the Top 25.
This edition of the NWCA poll includes matches as of Nov. 17, 2025. The next edition of the NCAA Division II Coaches Association rankings will come out Dec. 18.
