FAYETTE, Iowa – Peacock women's wrestling hits the mat early Saturday morning to compete in the Luther Open. UIU wrestles at 9 a.m. in Gerdin Fieldhouse at Luther College.
LAST TIME OUT
Upper Iowa wrestled this past Saturday at the Wartburg University Open.
Kylee Shoop took home third place, along with 21.5 points in the College 131 Frosh/Soph, after she won by a fall over Alyssa Jones of Minot State (N.D.).
Eliana Callies placed fifth with 19 points in the College 160 Frosh/Soph. She won by forfeit over Lucy Kohnen (Iowa Central CC).
ABOUT THE MEET
If fans plan on going, they should enter through the main entrance lobby (new) of Gerdin Fieldhouse. Due to construction, the south side roads are not accessible. Spectators are required to park on the north side of the building and must pay a $5 fee per vehicle.
Gates open at 7:45 a.m. Children under the age of five are free, while Seniors 65+ pay $10 and the general public pays $20. All spectators receive wristbands.
The Open includes a total of 16 teams that span from Iowa, Illinois, Minnesota, Wisconsin and Nebraska. Conference foe Quincy (Ill.) will also compete in the meet.

Toyia Griffin and
Makayla Matson highlighted the open for the Peacocks. White finished in second with 19 points in the Women 207, while in that same class Griffin finished in seventh with 11 points and
Makayla Matson finished in eighth with six points.
UP NEXT
Next weekend, UIU heads to Quincy, Illinois, to compete iin its first GLVC Duals of the season. The Peacocks will face off against McKendree (Ill.), Grand Valley State (Mich.) and William Jewell (Mo.).
