INDIANOLA, IOWA  – Eliana Callies (160) and Kylee Shoop (131) wrestled in the consolation round three of the NCAA Region V Championships on Saturday. Callies and Shoop each won two matches on Friday, but were eliminated after losing Saturday's matches. 

Shoop received two byes on Friday. She was defeated by No. 16 Open Mat-ranked Mackenzie Childers (21-5) of Wartburg. The freshman was knocked out of the tournament on Saturday after falling to Cera Philson of Wisconsin-Stevens Point (16-17), who took sixth place. 

Callies beat Kinalisa Lokot of Buena Vista and Dakota Cornell of Central College on the first day of the tournament. However, she fell to the NWCA No. 1 wrestler, Kennedy Blades (15-0) of Iowa. The Rochester, Minnesota native lost to Alaina Franco of Augsburg (Minn.) (11-10) on Saturday, who also took sixth place.

Bentley Hills (103), McKenzie Tollefson (145) and Mya Mendoza (180) competed for the Peacocks in the NCAA Region V Championships on Friday. The winner of Shoop's weight class was Karlee Brooks of Iowa (33-4) and Blades won the 160-pound bracket. From the GLVC, NWCA No. 3 Xochitl Mota-Pettis (7-1) of Quincy (Ill.) was the top wrestler of the 124-pound weight class. 

Iowa had the most qualifiers with 10, followed by Wartburg with six, Quincy with three and Simpson with three. Iowa also led with eight regional champions, while Wartburg and Quincy each had one.
