Upper Iowa men's wrestling is ranked 17
th in the latest NWCA DII Coaches Poll and boasted five individuals listed in the top 15. The Peacocks improved from their 24th-place ranking in the last edition on Dec. 23.
St. Cloud State remains the top-ranked team in NCAA Division II men's wrestling. Trailing them is Glenville State and UW Parkside tied for second, Nebraska-Kearney in fourth and Central Oklahoma in fifth.
Thirty-two ranked wrestlers and three number-one wrestlers hail out of the Northern Sun Intercollegiate Conference (NSIC), tied with the Great Lakes Valley Conference (GLVC) with a poll-best four ranked teams. McKendree is ranked the highest in the GLVC in 7
th, with Upper Iowa behind in 17
th, followed by Indianapolis (23
rd) and Maryville (24
th).
The next edition of the poll will come out as Division II's teams head into the final weeks of the regular season, with a release date of Feb. 17, 2025.
UIU men's wrestling is 8-4 on the season and 1-0 in the GLVC. The team most recently defeated Minot State (39-3) and Southwest Minnesota State (32-2) at the Mustang Duals in Marshall, Minn. At the NWCA National Duals, the Peacocks picked up two wins over ranked teams, including #2 Glenville State (20-14) and #9 Tiffin (30-13).
