Upper Iowa competed at Wartburg College for the fourth indoor season in a row, where they placed first overall in two events.
Sophomore
Haylie Hutchinson continued to dominate in the triple jump, as she placed first overall for the second meet in a row. Hutchinson posted a 10.81m jump, which ranks in the top-100 best marks in all of division two this year. She added another first-place victory in the 200m, as she crossed the finish line in 27.42. Hutchinson rounded out her solo events with a time of 9.60 in the 60m hurdles prelims, before taking fourth place with a time of 9.60 in the finals.
The Peacocks had a very successful 400m, as they had three runners place in the top five. Junior
Jillian Dodds (3
rd) posted a time of 1:05.93, junior
Eryn Sabelka (4
th) crossed the line in 1:06.19 and freshman
Jasheana Tracey (5
th) recorded a personal record in 1:09.13.
Dodds, Tracey, Sabelka and Hutchinson added time of 4:26.66 in the 4x400m relay, finishing fifth overall.
Junior
Myah Brinker led the way for UIU in both of her field events, highlighted by a fourth-place finish in the weight throw with a 14.29m throw. She added a personal record in the shot put, where she recorded a mark of 10.62m to take seventh place.
Senior
Carolina Regalado took eighth in the 60m with a time of 8.45 and senior
Jordan Sekafetz added another eighth place, which came in the long jump with a 4.47m jump.
The Peacocks will compete at Cornell College for the second time this season for the Hilltop Invite. The meet will be held in Mount Vernon, Iowa, on Saturday, Jan. 25 at 11 a.m.
