Peacock volleyball opens conference play this weekend in a solo game versus Truman State. Game time is scheduled for 3 p.m. in Fayette inside Dorman Memorial Gymnasium. UIU comes into the weekend with a 5-6 mark on the season, and TSU enters the contest 0-12 and will be looking for their first win.

THE FRONT RUNNERS
Within the Great Lakes Valley Conference, a handful of teams have been a powerful force in non-conference play. Quincy leads the way with an 11-1 mark, only falling to Nova Southeastern in four sets. Missouri-St. Louis has also recorded one loss and tallied nine wins, only succumbing to Regis in five sets. Indianapolis is 10-2 on the season and is on a nine-game win streak, while Illinois Springfield sits at 8-3.

Missouri-St. Louis was ranked fifth in the latest AVCA poll, while Quincy received votes.Â

TEAM LEADERS
Middle
Zoe Semelroth has been a force at the net in the early part of the season, recording 181 kills (3
rd GLVC) and leading the conference with a .435 hitting percentage. The senior has tallied five games hitting over .500, and two over .600.
Nicole Pozorski has dished out 391 assists on the year, ranking fifth in the GLVC with 9.54 assists per set.
McKenna Diermeier has held down the back line with 3.93 digs per set, good for ninth in the conference.Â

SERVICE ASSASSINÂ
Sophomore
Jaeden Cook has been dominant in service so far this season, leading the team in aces with 17 (.40 per set). She has recorded her season-high of four aces in two games, including the team's 3-2 victories over UW Parkside on Sep. 6 and Ohio Dominican on Sep. 14.Â

SCOUTING THE BULLDOGS
Truman State sits at 0-12 on the year and is looking for their first win on the season coming into this weekend. They put up a tough fight last weekend at the Southwest Baptist Tournament, as three out of the four matches they dropped went to five sets.Â

Michaela Goad leads the Bulldogs in kills with 147, equivalent to 2.77 per set. Behind her is Jessica Proszenyak, with 2.40 kills per set. Emma Baierl and Tori Creason have each tallied more than 200 assists this season, as Baierl averages 4.43 per set and Breason 3.96. They also lead the teams in digs, each having recorded over 130 this season.

Upper Iowa is back home next weekend as they host Quincy on Friday, Oct. 4 at 6 p.m. and Illinois Springfield on Saturday at 1 p.m.
