Peacock men's wrestling saw a Saturday filled with tough competition in Indianapolis, Ind., and Ryan Wehner (141), Ethen Doty (149), Lawson Losee (174), Colter Bye (184) and Geoffery Freeman (197) have each wrestled their way to day two of the 45^th Annual Midwest Classic.
 
Others who competed on day one of the tournament but did not qualify for day two were Jackson Heaston (125), who went 1-2; Dawson Schmit (133), who finished 1-2; Dalton Schams (157), who went 2-2; Collin Altensey (165), who concluded the day 1-2; and Clay Ours who finished 1-2. 
 
"Although we always want more from those who are not wrestling on day two, there were plenty of good things done and inventory taken," noted Head Coach Heath Grimm. "We are excited for the five guys competing tomorrow."
 
Upper Iowa has accumulated 36.5 team points and is tied for 13^th place after the conclusion of day one. Central Oklahoma leads the way with 51.5, followed by UW Parkside (49.5) in second and McKendree (46) in third. 
 
"We absolutely love this event," said Grimm. "You get to see where you are at against the best teams in the country." 
 
Of those advancing to Sunday's action, Freeman posted four wins after working back through the consolation bracket, while Doty nabbed three and Wehner notched two. Losee and Bye each concluded the day with two wins and no losses.
