The Upper Iowa men's wrestling team competed in their second open of the season in Minneapolis, Minn., hosted by Augsburg University. The Peacocks claimed one Gold Bracket title and added three runner ups and two fourth-place finishers.

Treyton Ackman was crowned the champion at 125 pounds. He posted a 3-0 mark on the day defeating Miguel Garcia (Luther College) by tech fall, Connor Kidd (Luther) by decision and Cristian Chavez (Luther) by decision.

Tate Murty (2-1) at 141 pounds, Lawson Losee (3-0) at 174 pounds and Chase Luensman (2-0) at 165 pounds each claimed second place in their respective weight classes.  

Ethen Doty (149) and Gunner Rodgers (174) each finished in fourth.

A group of unattached wrestlers turned heads in Minneapolis today. Jackson Heaston and Josh Glendening took second place, while Dawson Schmit, Cael Bridgewater and Collin Altensey finished third. Carson Less, Kale Hanson, Chase Wickwire and Gabriel Christensen came in fourth. Conner Nevin notched fifth place.

The Peacocks are back on the mat on Dec. 2 at the Parkside Open held in Kenosha, Wis.
