Upper Iowa's women and men's track and field teams took a short road trip north to Luther College to compete in the Norse Invite on Saturday. The men's team placed fifth out of seven teams scoring 46 points, while the women placed fourth out of six teams with 56 points.

Two school records were broken on the day.
Maddie Stevens (pictured left) set a new school and Norse Invite record in the 400m dash with a time of 57.37 seconds to claim first place in the event.
Macklin Conrad also set a new UIU record in the hammer throw with a mark of 41.17 meters to place third.
Kai Bateman also set a Norse Invite record in the triple jump with a leap of 13.77 meters.

Nailea Espinoza won the 100m dash and placed third in the 200m dash in times of 12.41 seconds and 26.42 seconds, respectively. In addition to Stevens' win in the 400m,
Zakaria Fuller took third place in a time of 1:00.63.
Macey White ran the 5K in a time of 20:50.88 to finish as the runner-up, while
Jade Martin placed third in the javelin with a mark of 30.49 meters and fifth in the high jump with a leap of 1.35 meters.
Kiana Maghanoy was the final Peacock to score points with a fifth-place finish in the discus after a throw of 35.6 meters.

Bateman and
Jaylen Hobson went one-two in the triple jump. While Bateman won the event with his meet record jump, Hobson was the runner-up after a jump of 13.26 meters.
Devon Lawrence joined Conrad scoring points in the hammer throw with a toss of 40.69 meters to claim fourth. Conrad added more points with the fourth-best throw in the javelin with a toss of 43.95 meters. Cam Green claimed a fourth-place run in the 400m dash after crossing the finish line in a time of 50.48 seconds.
Dalton Baker and
David Snider placed sixth and seventh in the 10K thanks to times of 35:04.44 and 36:10.05, respectively.
Austin Bittenbender hit a mark of 5.82 meters in the long jump to place eighth.

Upper Iowa will get back on the track next Wednesday, Apr. 13 at the Easter Mid-Week hosted by Loras College in Dubuque, Iowa.
