The Upper Iowa track team was represented by six women and five men at the 16th Annual Kip Janvrin Open hosted by Simpson College on Friday. The meet, which featured more than 1500 competitors from over 60 colleges and universities around the country, opened on Thursday night with eight sections of the 5000-meter run.

The Peacock women competed in the four track events including the 100m, 200m, 800m and the 100m hurdles and three throwing events including the discus, hammer throw and shot put. The UIU men took their place in two running events including the 100m and 200m and five field events including the long jump, discus, hammer throw, javelin and shot put.

Macklin Conrad placed third in the javelin with a throw of 43.63 meters to highlight the men's action, while
Jordan Sekafetz and
Kysta Ramirez placed 19
th and 22
nd in the 100m hurdles with times of 16.50 and 16.63 seconds, respectively.

Upper Iowa will be back at full strength in their next meet in Dubuque, Iowa. The Peacocks will compete in the Dr. Tucker Open hosted by Loras College on Friday, May 6.
